Definitely worth the wait in queue during Christmas. Hear me out , yes you can get the same stuff in many of the other shops in a much cheaper price range but still there is something magical about this shop. So many things to choose from and holiday vibes are completely different. Definitely recommend it !

Family weekend in NYC. We had such a great time at FAO. Lines were long, store was full. But, what a neat experience for our 11 y/o daughter. We were lucky enough to get a Jellycat Diner reservation. So, worth it!

Can’t say enough about this experience. My son had demo encounters by 4 different staff members. Andrew was so much fun! This man LOVES his job and is truly working in his purpose of adding happiness to the minds of small children. We saw the famous keyboard and soooooo much more. You have to go for yourself. My son loved it. The staff are excellent! This was a great experience.

By S. Carrelli: This toy store is so amazing. Even though there was a very long line on the day I went, I was wowed when I walked in. It was like a kid’s dream! The Jellycat diner was also really cool and so was the big piano. I also liked how they had different sections for different brands and everything was so bright and colorful. The staff was also really nice. This is a must if you go to New York City.

A visit to FAO Schwarz in Manhattan is essential. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in an atmosphere of pure happiness and delight. Wow, is a word that you could use for FAO Schwartz. They are so over the top when it comes to the design of the inside of the store. There is a total frenzy of people shopping with a twinkle in their eye. Such a fun experience during the holidays. Definitely worth it for the experience.

This is a children's paradise. So many different toys, adults, kids, they're fascinated. Time is ticking, and the whole staff is genuinely having fun there, and it's wonderful and grateful. There are so many toys I can't take my eyes off of, and there are dolls in the house, but there's the charm of this place where I can't help but buy... Won't we buy new toys again next time? It was such an interesting place.

I stopped by this "toy store" just to see what all the hype was about.... I see now. LOL! You walk in and there is an entire section filled with stuffed animals and an entire section in there of DOG stuffed animals. Enough said. You had me at hello. Walk around and squeeze through the massive number of people that are everywhere and you will find magicians, unique toys and creative outlets for adults and children everywhere. The Barbie section??? =O This place is so fun and I wish I had been able to see this place as a child, but I will settle for the bliss I felt as an adult. *It is located right next to Rockefeller Center, so... A good time to stop by would be when you are there! #toystore #faoschwarz #nyc

FAO Schwarz is always a magical stop in New York! It’s packed with unique gifts, giant stuffed animals, and all kinds of whimsical surprises. And yes—the iconic giant floor piano from the movie Big is still there! It’s been updated over the years, but it remains nostalgic, fun, and a must-try experience, especially with kids. I do miss their Star Wars and Marvel displays, but the new Jellycat diner is a charming addition for stuffed-toy fans. Even if you come just to browse, be warned—you’ll likely walk out with something you didn’t plan to buy! The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the store offers plenty of standout finds. It is pricier than a typical toy shop, but the selection and experience truly set it apart. A fun, feel-good store and a guaranteed stop for us every time we visit New York.

I don't normally post for non-small businesses, but figure with excellent toy stores (or toy stores in general) becoming a rarity, I wanted to share the great experience my family and I had thanks to Dustin at FAO Schwarz. This is a long review, so TLDR: awesome people, awesome experience. First, FAO is an amazing visit that brought me back to my childhood; seeing so many cool toys, workers that were legitimately excited showing off at displays, and just amazing customer service all the way was a breath of fresh air. Keep in mind that this was two weeks before Christmas, when crowds were insane and the employees were already long into their busiest season. I hesitatently paid for the personal shopper/express shopping (just over $100 total), BUT found this to be the most worthwhile expense of our trip to the city, and highly recommend during the holiday season. First, we bypassed the hours - long wait outside, then we were able to pick an experience to do (Jellycat Diner in our case-the Chef was amazing!), bypassing another long line. That time value alone was far worth more than the money spent, which I can't say for most experiences around the city. However, it was Dustin who made the experience perfect. He met us at the door and gave us the most outstanding tour, taking time to show us each area and talking about each one (the history, what was unique, and even his history and why FAO was special to him, etc.), making sure we got to experience each area without feeling rushed, and really making this a magical experience for our family. We even had time to hit the funko maker to make a personalized pop figure,which I did not think was going to happen. We were able to do everything in an hour that would normally require a 4+ hour experience. I can't stress this enough that although the store itself is fun, it's the people who made this visit amazing, and Dustin was at the epicenter (with the support of every other employee we encountered along the way).
